1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer CST

This 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer CST has been refinished in green and white over white vinyl and plaid cloth upholstery as part of a refurbishment completed in 2023. Additional work completed at that time included replacing the windows, bumpers, grille, side moldings, body mounts, and weather seals, rebuilding the axles, brakes, three-speed automatic transmission, and dual-range transfer case, and installing a replacement 350ci V8 with Holley electronic fuel injection. Equipment includes a removable white hardtop, 15″ Rally wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, a rear bench seat, a center console, and a Custom Autosound digital stereo.

The body was removed from the frame before being sandblasted, repaired, seam sealed, and repainted in green and white as part of the refurbishment completed in 2023. Additional work completed at that time included refinishing the removable white hardtop and replacing the body mounts, chrome bumpers, side and tailgate moldings, Blazer and CST badges, marker lights, side mirrors, door handles, weather seals, windshield, side windows, and hardtop glass. Tow hooks are installed in addition to a replacement dual exhaust system with exits behind each rear wheel.

Replacement 15″ Rally wheels wear trim rings and are wrapped in 31×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires. The power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums were rebuilt in 2023 using a replacement brake booster and master cylinder in addition to replacement rotors, calipers, pads, drums, and shoes. Additional work completed at that time included rebuilding the power steering box and replacing the shocks, tie rod ends, and ball joints.
Interior details include air conditioning, a center console, a body-color dashboard, woodgrain door trim, vent windows, sun visors, and Custom Autosound AM/FM/MP3 stereo.

The air conditioning system has been converted for use with R134a refrigerant and rebuilt using replacement hoses, control cables, air ducts, switches, and relays.

LED backlit instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, battery status, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 100k miles.

The replacement 350ci V8 was rebuilt by Kelley’s Machine Shop of Phoenix, Arizona.

Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, four-bolt main caps, cast iron cylinder heads, and roller rocker arms. The water pump, alternator, power steering pump, and accessory drive belts were replaced at the time of the rebuild, and the radiator support has been powder coated. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed TH350 automatic transmission and a dual-range NP205 transfer case, both of which were rebuilt. The front and rear axles have also been rebuilt and feature a 3.07:1 Eaton limited-slip differential up front, Positraction differential out back, and replacement U-joints. A rear driveshaft sourced from Tom’s Driveshafts is installed, and the frame, inner fenders, and bumper mounts are powder coated.
